Ukrainian Women's Association members gather for their annual member appreciation get together.

Who we are

Made up of more than 40 members, we are professional women in the Ukrainian diaspora community dedicated to giving back to our homeland and specifically Ukraine’s future, our children. After years of helping fund hospitals and newborn units in Ukraine, we came together in 2022 to officially found the Ukrainian Women’s Association of America (UWAA).

Our nonprofit stands brave with the children of Ukraine and helps provide them with the happy, healthy childhood they deserve. Because when children are raised with love and compassion, they’ll build a loving, compassionate world without war.

How We Raise Funds

  • UWAA volunteers at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Festival in Chicago.

    Summer Festivals

Our members volunteer at summer festivals to sell merchandise made by members, donated by artisans, and brought from Ukraine.

  • UWAA members put on a traditional Pysanka, easter egg writing, workshop during Easter.

    Craft DIY Workshops

UWAA members host various workshops throughout the year to coincide with the holidays like pysanka workshops for Easter and candle making at Christmas.

  • Ukrainian Pop Band Patsyki Z Franeka perform in Chicago.

    Influencer Collaborations

When Ukrainian musicians, celebrities and influencers tour Chicago, we partner with them to amplify our message and mission.

  • UWAA Executive Director speaks about City of Goodness during a fundraising gallery opening at the Ukrainian National Museum in Chicago.

    Grants & Donations

We network in the community to solicit private and business donations and apply for grants to ensure we have funding to support our mission.

Partnerships

We partner with local businesses and community organizations to make a difference in the lives of Ukrainian children. Through dynamic joint projects like concerts, charitable fashion shows, and festivals, we aim to create impactful initiatives that uplift and support Ukrainian children and families healing from trauma.

The Ukrainian Diaspora Community celebrates in June of 2023 at Chervona Ruta Festival in Palatine, IL.
